Onderstaande vragen zijn bedoeld om even stil te staan bij het
verhuizen naar Portugal. Er waren al heel wat mensen die ons plan
omarmden in de meest lovende woorden om dan een paar week later te
merken dat ze nog helemaal niet in staat waren om Nederland te
verlaten. Daarom een paar vragen. Niet omdat wij die antwoorden van jou
willen. Helmaaal niet. Je hoeft ook geen antwoorden op te sturen. Maar
puur om even na te denken of een leven in een ecodorp en in Portugal
iets voor jou is.
Waarom een ecodorp 2000 km van Nederland en niet dichterbij?
Welke kennis en vaardigheid heb je in te brengen. Welk beroep zou je willen uitoefenen?
Bedenk dat je mede eigenaar gaat worden van grond en gebouwen.
Kun je een bedrag inbrengen waarmee we de gezamelijke eigendommen verwerven?
Op welke termijn kun je deelnemer worden?
Welke ervaringen heb je op het gebied van organisatie, struktuur en regelgeving? Welke ideeën zou je nog willen inbrengen?
Hoe ligt voor jou de verhouding tussen groep en privé? Wat wil je samen doen en wat persé niet?
Onderstaand nog een engelstalige enquete die we on-line vonden en waarin ook een aantal zinnige vragen
staan die de moeite van het overdenken waard zijn.
Integral Ecovillage Questionnaire

When the Integral Ecovillage Project began, we devised a questionnaire to find out what kind of
community people wanted to live in. You might like to have a go at filling it in yourself,
to clarify your own ideas of an ideal community.
We suggest about 20 minutes for this. The aim is to give the best answer you can aiming at
about a minute per question! There are no right or wrong answers. Keep it as simple as you can.
If you feel stuck, take your best guess. Scan all the questions first, and have fun with your
answers.
1 Purpose - What would the single main purpose of your ideal community be?
2 Core Values - What else is important in this community?
3 What kind of people live in this place? What qualities to you want people to have?
4 What kind of place is it? This is intentionally vague!
5 Where is it? Any particular area? What are your main criteria for geographical
location? If it has to be near a city, how near? Any other requirements?
6 What size? How many people on how many acres? Take 1 person per acre as the UK average.
7 The architecture - What are your main criteria for the buildings? How would they be organised?
8 How would the land be used? What % would be used for what main purposes?
9 What kind of economy? All private income. All shared income. A labour credit/Lets
economy. A mixed economy of part private money and part shared labour credit/Lets. Or what?
10 Decision making and leadership - How would this work?
11 What are the main money earning activities - of the community as a whole?
12 What tithe does the community levy - on its members for providing shared facilities. (the nest question asks you to specify these)
13 What facilities do you want the community to provide - in return for the community tithe? (apart from cars, which are covered next)
14 Cars - private and/or car pooling. If car pooling, what level of availability on demand, eg. 60%, 90% etc. Are cars allowed right up to houses? Noise/pollution?
15 Children and dependant relatives - what would policy be?
16 How do people join and leave? Selection process? Provisional membership? Notice of leaving? Capital refunding?
17 Visitor policy - what is it? How many visitors, what do they give/get?
18 How would the communty deal with interpersonal disputes?
19 What else is important to you that hasn't been covered? eg. Policies on pets?
Community influence on outside world etc?
