People want to enjoy the way they live. Having a solid roof over our heads is something we enjoy. So let‘s discuss and think together about the following topics.
In our village nobody is concerned with a morgage. Everybody rents their house. It is our goal to offer a fitting home for everyone. Families with children will live in extra large houses. If possible not too far away from one another, so that the children will be able to play together and the parents will be able to watch them from the houses.
When children reach the age of 14, they can choose whether they want to stay at home or move on to a home they share with other young people. They will choose their own mentor. Their contact with mum and dad will then be quality time.
If young people choose to live together with their boy- or girl-friend, there will be a starters‘ house available for them. When children are on their way, the family can move to a larger home.
When people get older, they can move to a cluster of houses, where they can live for the rest of
their lives. No more moving if they don‘t want to. Another great advantage: Senior couples are
no longer forced to live separately, when one of them needs extra care or nursing!
In order to prevent a sudden shortage of a certain type of houses, we can simply choose to build a surplus, that is, more than we actually need, so that there will be a possibility to move, whenever there is a need for it. The houses that are vacant can be rented out to tourists or to people who would like to come and live with us for a certain number of weeks or months. As soon as we find that a certain type of house will be needed in the near future, we will stop renting it out to tourists and start renting it to those among us who want to move. Because we rent the house we live in and pay rent, we don‘t have to do repairs ourselves. The housing company does all the repairs. The housing company, that is we ourselves. The ones who do the repairs are the ones who enjoy doing so, either those who already know how to, or those who want to learn!
We ourselves will make all the structures that are needed for the village to be able to function well. A number of us will do the renting out and the repairing. When needed, they will assign the building company to do certain repairs. The painting company plans regular painting maintenance. Whenever something needs repairing, there will be a place where it can be reported; there must be a guarantee of a reasonably short time in which someone will both come and inspect and repair it.
