Trades and crafts

Machines are meant to make our manual work easier. The use of them, however, has grown beyond its goal. Man no longer determines how the machine is being used; the machine determines man‘s work. There are many aspects in our lives in which machines have become the standard, whereas man should be the important one. Tools, however, are helpful to our work, they are like an extension of ourselves. Man keeps in charge of the work. Tools fit more into an ecological existence than machines do.
Therefore, in our village we would prefer tools to machines. Tools offer an invitation to practise one‘s trade or craft; to enjoy one‘s work; to take pride in one‘s gained results. These are intrinsic rewards which keep coming back to the workers.
